Jump Tutorial

Posted in Grass, Myself, Rob Helm, Street, Tutorials | No Comments »

This tutorial should help most every rider learn how to jump on a mountainboard or expand on what they already know how to do. Let me now what else you want to learn by clicking Contact Me on the top of the screen. If you want plans to build the 3 foot kicker I am using I have the link below. The plans are only for the jump as a whole and do not describe how to make it modular. I also have the full text available for download if you need to translate the video.

Be safe and enjoy.

Father’s Day 2010

Posted in Grass, Myself | No Comments »

My family had a large get-together for father’s day at my Grand Pap’s farm and I wanted to have a little fun. My Uncle Tim, Cousin Grant and I snuck away for about 30 minutes to have some laughs and a good time with a truck, a rope and a board. This was Grant’s first time on a mountainboard and I have to say he really stepped up to the plate. My dog Juno was having a great time running around and everyone was safe and healthy afterwards. An all around great day of riding and the food from the party was pretty damn good too.

Berrien County Skatepark Georgia

Posted in Kelby Clark, Myself, Rob Helm, Skatepark, Top Picks | No Comments »

This is the 3rd skatepark that I designed and constructed through the company that I own. Everything was perfect. The ramps are a blast to ride and we were able to give the community an amazing skatepark that fit within their budget. I expect a lot of videos to come out of this skatepark so keep your eyes peeled. During a 9 day period we put in 300+ man-hours, 10,000+ screws, 2 hearts and 2 souls. I am very proud of this skatepark.

More Oxygen Please

The First Jump Felt the best. We elevated one end of the jump by about  8 inches and it felt great until it started to push back down trough the snow. I would enjoy knowing how to do a front flip on the mountainboard. I am still going about 15-20 feet at 6 feet off the ground. If I could switch those two number then there would be money in the bank.

Foamless snowpit

Posted in Brit Zab, Foam, Rob Helm | No Comments »

Rob, Brittany and I found some inspiration to get out and ride something new. Our usual spots were either covered in snow or dog poop mud.  Two things that could have made this more successful would be: 1: A lippier jump. 2: A landing that was not higher than the jump in question. Rob dialed in his 3’s and is ready to take it to dirt. Brit is ready for the X games. I still need some practice before I put it to dirt but a side note; front flips on snowboards are much easier.

As usual we made due with what we had at our disposal. The most important part is that we had fun.

Gear Fest Oct 3rd, 2009 in Dayton, OH

We did about 3.47 shows, and had a great response from the outdoor crowd. After our main shows were done we did a few jumps based on requests, and then we had some fun the morning that we packed the rig. It was my first time riding with Mason and I was very happy and impressed. Good riding and good work everyone.

Canton on July 4th

Posted in Curtis Kelly, Other Riders, Woods | 1 Comment »

Every time I go to Canton PA I have an amazing time. Curtis is a great guy who knows how to have a great time. Brittany and I went up for two days and got to enjoy some north central PA fireworks. Everyone Was a blast to ride with and I really enjoyed myself.

For those of you who don’t know in early 2000 Canton was the Mecca for east cost riders. The sad but true thing is that all of the current east cost riders now are made up of about 25 people that are spread so thin across the USA that we have to use carrier pigeons to send messages.

Cloud 9 Part 2

Posted in Dirt, Kelby Clark, Other Riders, Rob Helm | No Comments »

Well you can’t win them all, but Kelby is damn close. After a large rain storm in Georgia I had the opportunity to repair Kelby’s newly created park and get it back up to 100% totally sick status.

Watch the video checkout the flow and start building.

Kelby is an awesome rider for his age, and age aside he is a great rider. Be prepared to see some great stuff coming from him. I will just reference his work on the U box.

Bridge Swing 3-22-09

Posted in Other Riders, Other Sports | No Comments »

Have you ever had an idea that sounded good at the time?

This is one of those ideas….

But it turns out is was totally awesome during and after.

I want everyone to know that the rope we used is for climbing and it is not rope that can be purchased for under two hundred dollars.

I would consider myself an adventure seeker and I have done many exciting things. This 70 foot bridge that we swing about 45 feet of is more exciting than anything else I have ever done. Sky diving isn’t as perceivable as this bridge swing and that is why I think i find it a bigger rush.

We now have a nice tactical leg bag for the extra rope, and if AJ Lawson is reading this I want you to know it is much safer now, we did some upgrades.

Cloud 9

Posted in Dirt, Kelby Clark, Rob Helm | No Comments »

As bad as the intro is we did not read anything it was just emotionless improv.  Rob is a fantastic down hill mountain biker and he has a real knack with dirt. He and I finished building a skatepark in Maine and Kelby noticed the video online. His gears started turning and we started talking.

The build took about 3 days, and we ended with an 18 hr day and then jumped back on the road. That drive was the worst experience of my life, but we had to be in Washing DC that morning. I just want to get this off my chest; 5 hour energy in a bottle is a lie… If you are really really super really tired it is only 1.5 hour energy and then you hurt and hallucinate a large green cog coming from the road at about 5 am. We couldn’t stay awake so we did the safest thing we could. Sleep be hind an old run down graffitied gas station.

Cloud 9 is so much fun. If I had a park like this one when I was first learning to ride I would have caught all the air in the world  accidentally suffocating every man woman and child, but then I would have brought them back to life with a 02 rich gust of 360 and 540 air.

Enjoy it Kelby
