This tutorial should help most every rider learn how to jump on a mountainboard or expand on what they already know how to do. Let me now what else you want to learn by clicking Contact Me on the top of the screen. If you want plans to build the 3 foot kicker I am using I have the link below. The plans are only for the jump as a whole and do not describe how to make it modular. I also have the full text available for download if you need to translate the video.
Be safe and enjoy.

My family had a large get-together for father’s day at my Grand Pap’s farm and I wanted to have a little fun. My Uncle Tim, Cousin Grant and I snuck away for about 30 minutes to have some laughs and a good time with a truck, a rope and a board. This was Grant’s first time on a mountainboard and I have to say he really stepped up to the plate. My dog Juno was having a great time running around and everyone was safe and healthy afterwards. An all around great day of riding and the food from the party was pretty damn good too.

I don’t know why I do it to myself, but I always seem to ride when I am almost to sick to walk and get out of bed. I guess a day off from work deserves an attempted shred session.

Let me just tell you about the Pam Lee Motel. Almost better than mountainboarding at one of the best places on the East Coast. Everyone is so great and Curtis is the bees knees.
Thanks Brit for filming.

Everyone I talk to loves this video. Really simple build a jump and they will come. The backflips that day were out of sight. The down ramp was great, the police not so great but they understand. (right..) Add some slow motion and you’ve got a winner.

So I did a really fast 8 mile run that day but I really wanted to ride too. I will be the first to admit that I am stubborn and after the fail backflip because my legs were to weak I should have called it quits, but instead I got 8 stitches. I love the commentary.

I might be smiling in this video, but I was at a bad place in my life. All I wanted to do is get better at mountainboarding and I definably I had tunnel vision. I thought it was the most important thing in the world. This was the first time that I had ever tried a back flip on a mountainboard and the first time off this jump. I didn’t tell anyone I was going to do it I just did it. I was in the mindset that if I broke my neck and couldn’t walk I could still enjoy my life. I am now very greatful that things went as well as they did. Practice into foam and then try dirt not the other way around like I did.

The idea here was to go big or go home. I did both.
